Practice areas
Legal practice

Steffen König's practice focuses on notarial services. He covers the entire spectrum of notarial services, consulting and notarizations in the areas of corporate law, real estate law as well as inheritance and family law - in the context of an increasingly international environment - both in German and English language.

He in particular focusses on advising and notarizing on corporate transactions (M&A/private equity/venture capital and real estate transactions by way of share deals) as well as all other corporate transactions, such as venture capital financing rounds, financings and capital increases as well as transformation and restructuring measures.

This also includes the support of German and foreign founders and shareholders in all stages of their investment, from the formation of the start-up through the growth phase to the exit, and also includes the areas of personal asset provision and succession planning, taking into account the corporate investments, as well as corporate succession.

Another focus is the notarial support of all real estate-related transactions (asset and share deals, real estate development projects, land and apartment purchase agreements, also embedded in measures of anticipated succession).

Before joining FPS as a partner, Steffen König worked for almost 10 years as a lawyer, notary representative and most recently also as a notary in the Berlin office of one of the leading internationally active commercial law firms in Germany. There he advised domestic and foreign founders, start-ups, VC’s and Funds as well as medium-sized companies, corporate groups and investors on domestic and cross-border acquisitions and sales of companies and shareholdings, joint ventures, restructurings and all other corporate law related issues. This included, in particular, advising international investors on the acquisition of venture capital investments and their management. For many years, Mr. König was the first contact and advisor for a globally active Scottish investment manager in the acquisition and ongoing management of its venture capital investments in Germany.

In addition, Mr. König has advised investors on the buyer and seller side in real estate transactions and project developments and has been involved in the comprehensive support and implementation of corporate succession concepts in medium-sized companies with regard to the corporate, inheritance and family law implications.
