

FPS is a law firm rich in tradition, whose history reaches back to the middle of the 19th century when the firm opened its first office in Hamburg. Since its early beginnings, the firm has always focused on business law and worked closely with its national and international clients. This is still the case today. 2013
In 2013 the corporate form of the firm changed and the firm was renamed FPS Fritze Wicke Seelig Partnerschaftsgesellschaft von Rechtsanwälten mdB. In the same year the firm also relaunched his brand, emerging with a new corporate image and performance commitment.
2009
In 2004 Reszel Meierrose Burghardt-Richter joined the firm and established the Dusseldorf office. In April 2009 the firm expanded its Berlin office by merging with part of the Berlin office of Schwarz Kelwing Wicke Westpfahl. Since 2009, the firm has operated under the name FPS Fritze Wicke Seelig Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten and has been known as FPS.
2002
At the end of 2002 FPS Fritze Paul Schmitt then merged with the Hamburg office and parts of the Munich office of Seelig, Preu & Bohlig, founding the law firm FPS Fritze Paul Seelig with offices in Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Erfurt.
1998
In 1998 the law firms Seelig Ehlers Ziehm Richter and Preu, Bohlig & Partner, founded by Prof. Dr. Albert Preu and Dr. Manfred Bohlig, merged, founding a nationwide law firm with offices in Munich, Hamburg, Berlin and Dresden. The firm operated under the new name Seelig & Preu, Bohlig until 2002.

Paul, Paul & Schmitt was founded in 1946 by the former prime minister of the State of Thuringia, Prof. Dr. Rudolf Paul, and Dr. Dr. Albert Paul. In 1996 attorneys of the Frankfurt law firm Paul, Paul & Schmitt merged with the Berlin law firm Knauthe, founding Knauthe, Paul & Schmitt. In 2002 attorneys of Fritze Weigel Bornemann Arnold & Kelm then merged with Knauthe, Paul & Schmitt, founding the Frankfurt law firm FPS Fritze Paul Schmitt.
The Frankfurt office grew out of Fritze Weigel Bornemann Arnold & Kelm and Paul, Paul & Schmitt, bot law firms with strong roots in the Rhein-Main region.
1910
The groundwork for the firm Fritze Weigel Bornemann Arnold & Kelm was laid in 1910 by Magistrate Dr. Ernst Moritz Heertz. His son, Dr. Heinrich Heertz, and Dr. Christian Werner founded the firm Heertz Werner, which was joined by Dr. Ulrich Fritze in 1955. In the years that followed, the firm was also joined by Theodor Weigel, Klaus Bornemann, Karl-Heinz Arnold and Dr. Brigitte Kelm, and in 1973 the historic law firm Fritze Weigel Bornemann Arnold & Kelm was founded.

The historical roots of the firm reach back to the year 1846, when Dr. Heinrich Frans Angelo Antoine-Feill, son of a French citizen, lay the groundwork for the Hamburg law firm Seelig Ehlers Ziehm Richter – founded by Dr. Geert Seelig.
