As in all areas of business, the topic of compliance is also gaining in importance in the employment context. Compliance refers to compliance with rules of conduct, laws and policies by employers. Together with our clients, we address the rules and standards of the German Corporate Governance Code, explaining options of integrating those rules and standards into the client's business practice. We develop ethical standards and codes of conduct, and provide training for effectively instructing staff in compliance with company policies. Based on our many years of experience we discuss with each client whether and when it makes sense to appoint a compliance officer and what the responsibilities of a compliance officer should be. Finally, our attorneys also advise on liability issues, the proper handling of whistleblowers, and the risks of bribery and corruption.
