FPS advises the town of Dreieich on the acquisition of its town hall

The commercial law firm FPS has advised the town of Dreieich on the acquisition of the town hall at Hauptstraße 45 from the previous owner, astria advisors GmbH.

Having been a tenant of the building housing its town hall for a long time, the town of Dreieich has now acquired the site, including the building and underground car park. With the completion of the transaction, the town now owns its own central administrative headquarters in the centre of Sprendlingen.

The town has been using the building at Hauptstraße 45 as its administrative headquarters since 2002. The purchase agreement was signed on 3 August 2026; the transfer of ownership is scheduled for 1 November 2026. The purchase price for the land, building and underground car park amounts to €19.5 million, plus approximately €1.5 million in ancillary acquisition costs. Following a comprehensive review of various location and usage options, the purchase proved to be a more cost-effective solution than extending the lease, which was due to run until 2028. The town expects to make annual savings of around €350,000 from 2027 onwards.

Legal advice to the town of Dreieich was provided by an FPS team led by Dietrich Sammer, LL.M., Dr Frank Geyer and Philip Eilers. On the seller’s side, alstria was advised by trûon Rechtsanwälte PartmbB.

Dietrich Sammer, a partner at FPS, commented: “With this acquisition, the town of Dreieich is securing its central administrative location for the long term whilst also creating a financially sound outlook. We are delighted to have supported the town in this strategically significant transaction.”
