FPS recruits construction law and litigation expert Jochen Heilig

The commercial law firm FPS is strengthening its largest practice group: Jochen Heilig, a specialist lawyer in construction and architectural law, is joining the Frankfurt office as a partner. Heilig had been with SMNG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH since 2012 and most recently served as a partner and shareholder.

Jochen Heilig has been admitted to the bar since 2004 and has been a specialist lawyer in construction and architectural law since 2010. He advises clients on the development and implementation of complex construction and property projects, ranging from legal advice throughout the construction process to litigation representation in disputes relating to construction, architectural and engineering law. At FPS, he will be primarily responsible for handling construction law disputes and will work closely with Stephan Jüngst, Managing Partner of FPS.

His practice focuses on the drafting and negotiation of contracts, as well as the development and implementation of strategies to prevent and resolve project-related conflicts. A particular focus is on defects and claims management, where he supports clients in the structured analysis, as well as the enforcement and defence against claims. In court proceedings, he represents clients’ interests with extensive litigation experience and develops targeted strategies for the efficient enforcement of legal rights.

‘In Jochen Heilig, we are gaining a professional who consistently combines commercial objectives with legal assertiveness – exactly what clients expect today when it comes to support for major construction and property projects. The demands in this area have risen significantly in recent years, and by bringing him on board, we are sending a clear signal of our commitment to further expanding our largest practice group and investing specifically in the areas that make the decisive difference for our clients,’ says Stephan Jüngst, Managing Partner of FPS.

‘FPS is one of the leading firms in Germany for construction and property law – that was a decisive factor for me in taking this step. I look forward to supporting my clients to the highest standard within one of the strongest practice groups in the country and to continuing to grow alongside my new colleagues,’ says Jochen Heilig.
